Bibiana Agudelo

Founding and Managing Partner

Bibiana is founding and managing partner at BBA IP.  She has been practicing in the trademark field for nearly 25 years as in-house trademark counsel at PepsiCo as well as Associate and IP Specialist at the top trademark practices of firms in Bogota, Colombia and New York city.  She has experience in trademarks, domain names, IP management, brand protection, enforcement and marketing.  Bibiana  has managed trademark portfolios and enforcement matters of world’s most well-known brands in the fields of personal care, entertainment, food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, fashion, tobacco and vehicles.

Bibiana is a Colombian attorney with an LLM in Intellectual Property in the US (Franklin Pierce Law Center, today University of New Hampshire).  Her experience includes management of Latin American as well as worldwide trademark portfolios and enforcement matters in Colombia, Mexico and the United States.  She participated in the design of IP protection, enforcement, licensing strategies and management of worldwide enforcement matters for Playboy, focusing on China, at Venable LP, and actively participated in management of Unilever’s US trademark portfolio at Baker & McKenzie, NY.  She recently participated in the management of Rivian’s trademark portfolio at Coates IP, in the US, and with emphasis on China and Mexico.


Bibiana has served on INTA committees for the past 15 years, participated in important developments in the Parallel Imports, Famous and Well-Known Marks, and Brands Restrictions committees, and has been invited as speaker of the Hispanic Bar Association.  She is also an active Board Member of AIPF.  Bibiana enjoys playing tennis, swimming and tasting delicious food.


Silvia Palomino

Associate

Silvia Palomino is a Mexican attorney with a Law Degree from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM), Mexico City (2006) and a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property, Copyright and New Technologies from Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City (2022).  She has 20 years of experience managing local and international trademark prosecution and enforcement matters (opposition, cancellation, invalidation and anticounterfeiting actions) as well as copyright protection and infringement cases.   Her clients include start-ups as well as large Mexican and international corporations.

Silvia has not only worked in important law firms in Mexico City but as also actively participated in non-profit organizations, expressing her concern for the environment.  She was part of the King Conservation Corp. project from EarthCorps (formerly, Cascadia Quest) a Seattle based organization, where young adults from the US and countries around the world participate in a leadership training program with ecologic goals within the lens of racial equity and environmental justice.

Silvia is a member of the Mexican Association for Protection of Industrial Property (AMPPI), where she also actively participates in the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and INTA. 

Silvia enjoys spending time with her kids and family, traveling, reading and walking her dogs. 


Annabelle Angarita

Annabelle is a dynamic and results-driven Colombian attorney with over 20 years of experience in top-tier Colombian law firms (Posse Herrera Ruiz, Triana Uribe & Michelsen and Baker & McKenzie) and has worked in the Intellectual Property Department of Total S.A. (Oil & Gas) in France. She holds a master’s degree in Intellectual Property from Université Paris Panthéon-Assas and a master’s in business law from the same University. She possesses extensive expertise in trademarks, copyrights, patents, sanitary registrations, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, unfair competition, consumer protection, data privacy, infringement, anti-counterfeiting and entertainment law.  

She has managed complex IP portfolios of different companies in several countries, offering expert legal guidance regarding filing, prosecution, enforcement and protection of IP assets in Colombia and abroad. Relevant cases include designing and implementing the strategy to obtain the registration of the 3D trademark consisting of the Converse All Star Chuck Taylor sneaker in Colombia, as well as the notoriety of several trademarks such as Converse, Credibanco, Gourmet (Team Foods), La Casita Roja (Davivienda) and El Tigre (Suramericana).

Annabelle is recognized for her consultancy trademark services for domestic and foreign companies and has been ranked as Intellectual Property Rising star by The Legal 500 and Associate to watch by Chambers & Partners (Global and Latin America Guides). Her native language is Spanish, she is fluent in English and French. She enjoys playing and watching tennis, reading, going to the theater and the movies, traveling and tasting different foods.



Juanita Ramírez Roa

Juanita Ramírez Roa is an independent consultant with more than fifteen years of experience in advising firms and organizations on data protection and the implementation of comprehensive compliance programs. Her clients in Colombia include Independence Drilling S.A., Planners Ltda, Telpico LLC, Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Incontact Group, Seguros Bolivar and Colmédica.  Juanita has a law degree from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia, a Master’s degree in Personal Data Protection and Transparency from Universidad San Pablo CEU in Madrid, Spain, and a D.E.A. in Public Law from Université René Descartes in Paris, France.  She has also contributed to international projects such as the “International Digital Cooperation – Enhanced Data Protection and Data Flows” project for Latin America, developed by the European Commission through B&S Europe, consultancy for Ameripol aimed at developing data protection regulations that harmonizes local law with international organizations’ (e.g. Europol and Interpol) contributions.  Juanita likes to travel, learn about different cultures, read and enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Mariana Velasco

Mariana has more than 16-years of experience in administrative and customer care services.  She has experience in trademark portfolio docketing management, corresponding with foreign counsel, and implementing strategic and cost-efficient practices.

Mariana was born and raised in Mexico City.  She is bilingual (English- Spanish) and enjoys reading, cooking, baking and watching movies, while spending time with her family which includes her rex bunny.
